In October 2007, I got a phonecall regarding an old VW bus. I asked how old, "Well it has split windows" YES!
After talking more to the owner, which informed me that the bus was in a poor condition, due to several years in a barn in the forest of Småland. The only thing he knew about the bus was that his dad had driven it in the mid 1970's but when he died, it just stod there.
Well, me and my friend drove up the barn and a local farmer guided us to the barn, and this is how it looked.

The barn hadn't been in use for several years.....

A true barnfind...

Inside

The great thing was that both the front and back coach was there. Quite rare

After seeing the bus in this poor condition I was really sad and wondering what to do. The amont of work you have to do with the bus
is huge. After a phone call with the owner I decided that afterall it's better to save it otherwise thisone was going to the scrapyard.
And there where some nice parts on the bus afterall. Just imagine that the VW sign has been left in piece all these years.

Loading the bus. Thanks to Stefan - the local farmer.

The bus is on it's way to the new home and my friends look satisfied.

Unloading the bus with some help from the bay.
I have had some help from the guys at VW Nettet in Denmark, regarding this bus. The striping of the bus and the fact that it is numbered with "33" made me think that it perhaps has been in use in the Danish army. Now it looks as if the bus has been use in the Danish Civil force (Danska civilförsvaret)
I would be very happy if someone can provide me more information about this bus or similiar buses in Denmark.

The plans for the bus?
I will try so save this bus, and have started the job of restoring her. At this point the bus is completly stripped of parts and the engine is out and now the huge job starts. Fixing all the rust. And belive me there is rust.....
